With a left leg Dávid Kiprich saved IZMIR UNITED from getting behind. Volker Oehlert charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Dávid Kiprich stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jakobus Winzen's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Günter Lawen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jamal Riepe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, rot schwarz oberspree's Björn Nazaradeh got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jakobus Winzen to strike the kick off in the second half. IZMIR UNITED's Guido Seidenkranz got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Markus Nikolai managed to get in a good position for a shot. IZMIR UNITED's supporters rose to their feet, but Markus Nikolai was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jamal Riepe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Markus Nikolai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Walter Olejmeulen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jamal Riepe having to interfere. In the 86th minute Guido Seidenkranz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jamal Riepe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jamal Riepe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Markus Nikolai, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jamal Riepe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Guido Seidenkranz went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Volker Oehlert struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Jamal Riepe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IZMIR UNITED.
