Lüdinghausen FC's Benedikt Kubica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erwin Borke in the 3rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ludwig Scherrmann in the 4th minute of play forced Lüdinghausen FC's goalkeeper Benedikt Kubica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ludwig Scherrmann scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benedikt Kubica, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Staaken's Jochem Ewen got a free kick in the 29th minute. When Lukas Mühlfort came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Lüdinghausen FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lukas Mühlfort couldn't finish the play. Lukas Mühlfort struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Thomas Hübner didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lüdinghausen FC. In the 38th minute, Erwin Borke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Staaken were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Thomas Hübner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lukas Mühlfort in the 51st minute of the match. After 73 minutes of play, Lüdinghausen FC's Heinz Laslo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thomas Hübner was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 78th minute Lukas Mühlfort shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Hübner saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Staaken booed when Lüdinghausen FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens-Erik Rebwein didn't get a good kick on the ball.
