The referee ignored Hertha BSC's protests and gave Stephan Irmscher a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th minute, Stephan Irmscher hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute, Ingo Appolt made a precise shot to the right of Joseph Obladen. Hertha BSC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Joseph Obladen was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Georg Kaster showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 17 minute of play. In the 19th match minute, FC Wolfenbüttel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georg Kaster to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Ingo Appolt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joseph Obladen was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Hertha BSC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Abel Abeitia kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, FC Wolfenbüttel's Ingo Appolt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joseph Obladen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC Wolfenbüttel's Norberto Loose got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

In the 57th minute Norberto Loose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Obladen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Ingo Appolt put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Joseph Obladen. After a defensive mix-up in Hertha BSC's zone, Ingo Appolt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph Obladen came out of the goal and Ingo Appolt tried to chip the ball over his head. Ingo Appolt took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joseph Obladen. Joseph Obladen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. In the 75thth minute of the game Ingo Appolt who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hertha BSC's Joseph Obladen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Ingo Appolt put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Joseph Obladen. After having played for 82 minutes, Norberto Loose managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Wolfenbüttel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto Loose was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Ingo Appolt came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the FC Wolfenbüttel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingo Appolt couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute, Ingo Appolt left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Wolfenbüttel fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Ingo Appolt managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Wolfenbüttel's supporters rose to their feet, but Ingo Appolt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joseph Obladen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Norberto Loose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Obladen having to interfere. After 92 minutes of play, FC Wolfenbüttel's Ingo Appolt made it 10-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joseph Obladen was left in no man's land by his defense there! 97 minutes into the game, FC Wolfenbüttel's Ingo Appolt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joseph Obladen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 11-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Wolfenbüttel had played much better football throughout.
