Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Tore Meyer started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute Tore Meyer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bodo Pröger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Cem Zweigler got free in front of the goal in the 8th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Moritz Wolters was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. A collision led to Buchheim getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Karsten Steinkopf hit a great ball. The long shot by Uwe Brücken in the 11th minute really tested Moritz Wolters's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leander Holthoff in the 13th minute of play forced Buchheim's goalkeeper Moritz Wolters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Buchheim's Moritz Wolters got control of the ball when Cem Zweigler tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 15th minute of the match, Cem Zweigler got a very nice opportunity to score, but Moritz Wolters was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Buchheim's defense didn't have a chance, in the 16th minute, when Leander Holthoff scored to the left of an out of position Moritz Wolters, making the score, 1-0. A collision led to Inter Essen getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Armin Falke hit a great ball. Bodo Pröger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tore Meyer in the 22nd minute of play. Moritz Wolters was a little too slow when Leander Holthoff got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leander Holthoff in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moritz Wolters prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 36th minute, Edzard Dickhoff hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 37 minutes into the match, Uwe Brücken sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Moritz Wolters threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Uwe Brücken this time. 39 minutes into the match, Buchheim's goalkeeper Moritz Wolters had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cem Zweigler. Cem Zweigler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Moritz Wolters made a huge save. Armin Falke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moritz Wolters acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 48th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Uwe Brücken.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leander Holthoff made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leander Holthoff in the 52nd minute of play forced Buchheim's goalkeeper Moritz Wolters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the game, Inter Essen's Leander Holthoff nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Moritz Wolters made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. If Cem Zweigler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Moritz Wolters made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cem Zweigler in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Inter Essen's Leander Holthoff sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Moritz Wolters narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 67thth minute of the game Leander Holthoff who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buchheim's Moritz Wolters was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cem Zweigler struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Moritz Wolters didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter Essen. After 72 minutes, Herbert Frick mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inter Essen and the Buchheim players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Buchheim booed when Inter Essen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cem Zweigler didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute, Tore Meyer fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bodo Pröger, passed just outside the right post. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Inter Essen fans cheered their team off the field, for while Buchheim had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
