The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jörg Guenther during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 20 minutes into the match, Enno Wendland notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of USV Ilmenau's Rainer Schätzle. Rainer Schätzle was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Laurenz Holletschek to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Jürshof FSV getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. One of USV Ilmenau:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Jürshof FSV:s goal. Bernhard Kahraman shot the penalty kick right outside the post. When the match was over Jürshof FSV could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than USV Ilmenau throughout the match.
