Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Berno Bruhn took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute, Armin Riedel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cicero Ruck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Berno Bruhn in the 6th minute of the match. Rudolf Resenberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute Berno Bruhn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cicero Ruck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jan Gaßmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Gaßmann in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Meyer zu Natrup prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes into the game, VfLBorussia MG's Jan Gaßmann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. André Meyer zu Natrup made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Rudolf Resenberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Berno Bruhn kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cicero Ruck. That made the score 1-1 in the 27 minute of play. Jan Gaßmann struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. André Meyer zu Natrup didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VfLBorussia MG. In the 32nd minute, Tomasz Partl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, VfLBorussia MG's Cicero Ruck got control of the ball when Rudolf Resenberg tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th match minute, Sportclub Frankfurt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronny Sombrutzki to maneuver through the defense. If Rudolf Resenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Sportclub Frankfurt's Rudolf Resenberg in 44 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Cicero Ruck guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. 47 minutes into the game, Sportclub Frankfurt's Rudolf Resenberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cicero Ruck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jan Gaßmann stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Sportclub Frankfurt's zone, Armin Riedel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Meyer zu Natrup came out of the goal and Armin Riedel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 55 minutes, Christian Külow mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sportclub Frankfurt and the VfLBorussia MG players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, Christian Külow hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rudolf Resenberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Ronny Sombrutzki fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sportclub Frankfurt's protests and gave Ronny Sombrutzki a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 played minutes Sportclub Frankfurt got a freekick which was hit by Ronny Sombrutzki. Jan Gaßmann had several of the Sportclub Frankfurt's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 67 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed André Meyer zu Natrup as he didn't even see the shot coming. Mark Freiherr kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Witold Staiger missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 71 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the André Meyer zu Natrup right hand side. Jan Gaßmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Meyer zu Natrup having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in VfLBorussia MG's zone, Berno Bruhn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cicero Ruck came out of the goal and Berno Bruhn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to VfLBorussia MG getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Armin Riedel hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Rudolf Resenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sportclub Frankfurt's supporters rose to their feet, but Rudolf Resenberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cicero Ruck breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute, Berno Bruhn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cicero Ruck was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Sportclub Frankfurt were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of VfLBorussia MG for a fine match.
