Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Eberhard Bäcker kicked off to start the match. A collision led to Herkenbusch FSV getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Ubbo Bahler hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Bistrup's Friedrich Nawrath got a free kick in the 4th minute. Herkenbusch FSV's Simon Rosemann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Herkenbusch FSV from getting a goal against them. Bistrup's Eberhard Bäcker got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Eberhard Bäcker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alfred Faßbach recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by René Andrejewski in the 24th minute of play forced Bistrup's goalkeeper Tim Pawelski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Rosemann made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Eberhard Bäcker sent off a good shot on target. After 35 minutes, Gerd Beich mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bistrup and the Herkenbusch FSV players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 35th minute of the game. One of Bistrup:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Herkenbusch FSV:s goal. If Marco Mappus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Herkenbusch FSV's zone, Eberhard Bäcker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon Rosemann came out of the goal and Eberhard Bäcker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 46 played minutes Herkenbusch FSV got a freekick which was hit by Ubbo Bahler. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
Simon Rosemann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Faßbach in the 51st minute of the match. René Andrejewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Pawelski having to interfere. Marco Mappus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bistrup's defense didn't have a chance, in the 59th minute, when René Andrejewski scored to the left of an out of position Tim Pawelski, making the score, 0-1. In the 62nd minute, Herkenbusch FSV's Marco Mappus ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tim Pawelski. Tim Pawelski yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. 65 minutes into the match, Herkenbusch FSV's Marco Mappus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tim Pawelski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 72nd minute Bero Rehm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Rosemann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Eberhard Bäcker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Simon Rosemann was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. Simon Rosemann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eberhard Bäcker, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bistrup's Eberhard Bäcker got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bistrup's Tim Pawelski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Mappus in the 81st minute of play. Herkenbusch FSV's Simon Rosemann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eberhard Bäcker in the 82nd minute of play. Simon Rosemann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eberhard Bäcker, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. After having played for 88 minutes, Eberhard Bäcker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bistrup's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eberhard Bäcker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gordon Schößler might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simon Rosemann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gordon Schößler ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 90th match minute, Herkenbusch FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ubbo Bahler to maneuver through the defense. Bistrup's Tim Pawelski proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Bistrup from getting a goal against them. The Herkenbusch FSV supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Herkenbusch FSV would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
