Helmut Abschatz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, S.C Wardersee's goal looked a bit too open when Frido Warlies came free, but Helmut Abschatz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jürgen Schaaf showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benno Hähle, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Helmut Abschatz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bastian Besemann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 37 minutes into the match, FC Pilger's goal looked a bit too open when Benno Hähle came free, but Jürgen Schaaf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benno Hähle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frido Warlies was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Leroy Bohnert managed to get in a good position for a shot. S.C Wardersee's supporters rose to their feet, but Leroy Bohnert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jürgen Schaaf breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to FC Pilger getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Johannes Stadler hit a great ball. Helmut Abschatz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frido Warlies in the 60th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in S.C Wardersee fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! Helmut Abschatz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frido Warlies in the 76th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in S.C Wardersee's zone, Bastian Besemann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Helmut Abschatz came out of the goal and Bastian Besemann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
