Spectators: 6706 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1706, VIP seats: 0) Esshoff's Xavier Oestmann started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Esshoff's Adrian Katz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Onno Meckenstock in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute, Hans Bonin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to NKFV getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Bosko Zerbe hit a great ball. Xavier Oestmann succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 8th playminute. Xavier Oestmann struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Eike Leichsenring didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esshoff. In the 18th minute, Abi Schöneweiß got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Esshoff's goal looked a bit too open when Tasso Bauerschmidt came free, but Adrian Katz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrian Katz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florian Appenrodt in the 24th minute of play. Johannes Dormuth hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. When Xavier Oestmann came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Esshoff fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xavier Oestmann couldn't finish the play. Abi Schöneweiß recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Esshoff's Johannes Dormuth got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Adrian Katz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Florian Appenrodt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. NKFV's Eike Leichsenring played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abi Schöneweiß in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Florian Appenrodt to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Ulrich Göring mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esshoff and the NKFV players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd minute, Ulrich Göring hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The attack was good, but when Abi Schöneweiß in the 55th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 2-0 became the score in the 57th minute when Xavier Oestmann elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Adrian Katz was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Onno Meckenstock capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Onno Meckenstock really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Esshoff's Adrian Katz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Esshoff from getting a goal against them. During the 71st minute of the match Johannes Dormuth completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Johannes Dormuth a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 72nd minute, Johannes Dormuth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Onno Meckenstock could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Adrian Katz made a huge save. After some careless play in the NKFV defense, Abi Schöneweiß kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eike Leichsenring. The NKFV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eike Leichsenring should have stopped the shot. Abi Schöneweiß's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eike Leichsenring read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. The supporters of NKFV booed when Esshoff was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hilmar Häfner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Onno Meckenstock came free with the goalkeeper in the 91st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Adrian Katz could save by the left post. 92 minutes in the game, Florian Appenrodt fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Adrian Katz having to interfere. Bosko Zerbe hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Esshoff's Adrian Katz got control of the ball when Onno Meckenstock tried to sneak it across the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, Esshoff's goal looked a bit too open when Florian Appenrodt came free, but Adrian Katz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. NKFV's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
