The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Karl Lachmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Innozenz Blindow, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. If Felix Connemann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 6 played minutes Das Panzar got a freekick which was hit by Kosmas Kramer. Innozenz Blindow struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Karl Lachmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Rheindahlen. 14 minutes into the match, SC Rheindahlen's Innozenz Blindow sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karl Lachmann narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Innozenz Blindow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl Lachmann having to interfere. SC Rheindahlen's Innozenz Blindow got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Connemann in the 25th minute of play forced Das Panzar's goalkeeper Karl Lachmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Das Panzar's Karl Lachmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Innozenz Blindow in the 26th minute of play. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Felix Connemann sped through Das Panzar's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Karl Lachmann. In the 33rd minute of the match Reiner Balzer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Renke Stahl showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Felix Connemann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karl Lachmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Innozenz Blindow, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Kosmas Kramer's late challenge caught a SC Rheindahlen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kosmas Kramer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd match minute, Das Panzar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kosmas Kramer to maneuver through the defense. After 43 played minutes, SC Rheindahlen's Benni Liebsch shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Karl Lachmann came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Rheindahlen reached it. A collision led to Das Panzar getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Patrick Bahlau hit a great ball. After 48 minutes Das Panzar's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Benni Liebsch who took care of the corner kick. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Innozenz Blindow made a kick off. Bartolo Schirmer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Karl Lachmann made a huge save. Innozenz Blindow was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 54th minute. SC Rheindahlen's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Felix Connemann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frederick Madl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Renke Stahl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Renke Stahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederick Madl in the 60th minute of play. A collision led to SC Rheindahlen getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Henri Peschke hit a great ball. Walther Ockmann blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Renke Stahl having to make a save. Kosmas Kramer hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Felix Connemann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Das Panzar's goal looked a bit too open when Innozenz Blindow came free, but Karl Lachmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 74 played minutes SC Rheindahlen got a freekick which was hit by Rutger Wilk. If Frederick Madl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85thth minute of the game Innozenz Blindow who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Das Panzar's Karl Lachmann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Renke Stahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walther Ockmann in the 90th minute of play.
