Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Rainer Salecker took the kick off in the first half of the match. Ali Krames spun around in front of the goal 5 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of 1899 Hoffenheim's goal. After a rather tough play, 1899 Hoffenheim's Günther Homolka got a free kick in the 9th minute. Hoffnung Grünewald's Hanno Czylwick quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gary Ahrens, made in the 14th minute of the game. Hoffnung Grünewald's Hasse Schuster got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hanno Czylwick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willi Kohl having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in 1899 Hoffenheim's zone, Ali Krames stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Willi Kohl came out of the goal and Ali Krames tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 25th minute, Hasse Schuster left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hoffnung Grünewald fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Hoffnung Grünewald's Ali Krames got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, 1899 Hoffenheim's goalkeeper Willi Kohl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ali Krames. Ali Krames's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Willi Kohl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Victor Hofer charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victor Hofer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hoffnung Grünewald's Tobias Kaack was substituted for Hanno Czylwick. In the 43rd match minute, 1899 Hoffenheim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Hofer to maneuver through the defense. Matthias Söldner shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ali Krames to make the kick off. A collision led to 1899 Hoffenheim getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Günther Homolka hit a great ball. After having played for 55 minutes, Ali Krames managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hoffnung Grünewald's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Krames was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tobias Kaack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Ali Krames notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of 1899 Hoffenheim's Willi Kohl. Willi Kohl was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ali Krames in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Willi Kohl prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Oliver Nuth recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Hoffnung Grünewald booed when 1899 Hoffenheim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rainer Salecker didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Krames in the 77th minute of play forced 1899 Hoffenheim's goalkeeper Willi Kohl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tobias Kaack received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Willi Kohl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the 1899 Hoffenheim defense, Ali Krames kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Willi Kohl. The 1899 Hoffenheim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Willi Kohl should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute, Ali Krames had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dieter Dahl during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hoffnung Grünewald made a substitution. Friedrich Haug replaced Ali Krames. In the 84th minute, Dieter Dahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 87 minutes, Friedrich Haug managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hoffnung Grünewald's supporters crossed their fingers, but Friedrich Haug was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Friedrich Haug got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tobias Kaack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hoffnung Grünewald's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
