Champion's Jonas Zielonka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Haemer in the 86th minute of play. Fritz Geis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Karol Streich made a huge save. Andi Anderss short, quick shot in the 95thth minute got Karol Streich to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Champion's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
