In the 11th match minute, Willwerath FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacob Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Lutger Schickmann hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Saul Grygiel was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 13th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Willwerath FSV's Jobst Albrecht played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Zintl in the 15th minute of play. Hartmut Scharfscheer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Hasso Uhlenbrock tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexander Bauer in the 23rd minute of play forced Willwerath FSV's goalkeeper Jobst Albrecht to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When SCGSGN's Evert Zintl in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Hartmut Scharfscheer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Hasso Uhlenbrock when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of SCGSGN booed when Willwerath FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hartmut Scharfscheer didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, SCGSGN's Alexander Bauer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jobst Albrecht narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Willwerath FSV's zone, Alexander Bauer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jobst Albrecht came out of the goal and Alexander Bauer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Klement Furst to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Hartmut Scharfscheer made a precise shot to the right of Hasso Uhlenbrock. SCGSGN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evert Zintl in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jobst Albrecht prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 59 minutes into the match, Alexander Bauer notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Willwerath FSV's Jobst Albrecht. Jobst Albrecht was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of SCGSGN booed when Willwerath FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramon Achterberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alexander Bauer's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 65thth minute, Jobst Albrecht skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 67th minute, Willwerath FSV's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Evert Zintl fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Willwerath FSV's Erhard Borger got a free kick in the 69th minute. Jobst Albrecht showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evert Zintl in the 71st minute of the match. A collision led to SCGSGN getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Kurt Biehl hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute of the match Jörn Fröhlich sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hasso Uhlenbrock skillfully saved the ball. Hartmut Scharfscheer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hasso Uhlenbrock having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Willwerath FSV's zone, Alexander Bauer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jobst Albrecht came out of the goal and Alexander Bauer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as SCGSGN's Alexander Bauer slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jobst Albrecht. That made the score 1-3 after 93 minutes of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SCGSGN walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
