Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) FC Bismarck 72's Helmut Bacher started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes SC Freiburg got a freekick which was hit by Micha-Alexander Beiche. 7 minutes into the game, Philipp Burckhardt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Bismarck 72's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Freiburg the free kick. The supporters of SC Freiburg booed when FC Bismarck 72 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philipp Burckhardt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Micha-Alexander Beiche kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Helmut Bacher was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. FC Bismarck 72's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With a little luck, SC Freiburg's Curt Kracht got control of the ball when Marc Mackenthun tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute, Luis Dittrich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th match minute, FC Bismarck 72 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helmut Bacher to maneuver through the defense. Oliver Holoch hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Tino Dagdelen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Marc Mackenthun could shoot a difficult shot in the 37th minute, which Curt Kracht however easily saved by the left post. Curt Kracht showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Helmut Bacher, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 43rd match minute, SC Freiburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Rombach to maneuver through the defense. After 46 played minutes FC Bismarck 72 got a freekick which was hit by Martin Betz. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Timo Kremer to make the kick off. Curt Kracht showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Helmut Bacher, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 55thth minute of the game Marc Mackenthun who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Freiburg's Curt Kracht was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 64 minutes, Marc Mackenthun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Bismarck 72's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc Mackenthun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Bismarck 72's Quentin Kölzig suffered a concussion in the 66th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Luis Dittrich's late challenge caught a FC Bismarck 72's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Dittrich helped the player get up and apologised. In the 67th match minute, SC Freiburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Dittrich to maneuver through the defense. Helmut Bacher kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. SC Freiburg's Timo Kremer was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 70th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. In the 74th minute, Heini Troost ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Curt Kracht was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Mackenthun in the 79th minute of play forced SC Freiburg's goalkeeper Curt Kracht to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Mehdi Lange hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Timo Kremer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lionel Herbst having to interfere. Timo Kremer did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Lionel Herbst 91 minutes into the match. FC Bismarck 72 were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
