Spectators: 6709 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) Brink's Ole Fenstermacher started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Zorn FC's Ernst Hartwig got a free kick in the 4th minute. Ole Fenstermacher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Brink's Holger Krankenbroker got control of the ball when Marc Ramme tried to sneak it across the goal line. 18 minutes into the match, Zorn FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benny Karrenbauer came free, but Heinz Howeg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francis Bluhm kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 22ndth minute of the game Ole Fenstermacher who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zorn FC's Heinz Howeg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 24th minute, Benny Karrenbauer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 26th match minute, Zorn FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Friedo Adam to maneuver through the defense. Lorenz Strutz shot a long shot in the 27th minute and a light blocked Heinz Howeg hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Ole Fenstermacher had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Heinz Howeg. Zorn FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ole Fenstermacher was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Holger Krankenbroker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Markus Louven, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Ole Fenstermacher managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brink's supporters rose to their feet, but Ole Fenstermacher was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heinz Howeg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Benny Karrenbauer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the game, Fox Grooten was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brink's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zorn FC the free kick. A collision led to Brink getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Fox Grooten hit a great ball. Ernst Hartwig's late challenge caught a Brink's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernst Hartwig helped the player get up and apologised. After 47 played minutes Zorn FC got a freekick which was hit by Ernst Hartwig. After the first half Brink were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Markus Louven made a kick off. Xerxes Wilhelm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Heinz Howeg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ole Fenstermacher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Zorn FC's zone, Ole Fenstermacher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Heinz Howeg came out of the goal and Ole Fenstermacher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Brink booed when Zorn FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francis Bluhm didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benny Karrenbauer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Zorn FC's Heinz Howeg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ole Fenstermacher in the 70th minute of play. Ole Fenstermacher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heinz Howeg having to interfere. The supporters of Brink booed when Zorn FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Friedo Adam didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ole Fenstermacher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heinz Howeg having to interfere. Brink's Benny Karrenbauer got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With an all-out effort, Brink's Heinz Howeg threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ole Fenstermacher, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Ole Fenstermacher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heinz Howeg was a little too slow when Ole Fenstermacher got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 93rd minute, Zorn FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Benny Karrenbauer fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Brink played a much better game than Zorn FC and deserved their victory. The Zorn FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
