When Michael Grede, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 5 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Eugen Küfner was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Alexander Immel's late challenge caught a Salzburghofen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexander Immel helped the player get up and apologised. Alexander Immel kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. After 9 played minutes Salzburghofen got a freekick which was hit by Walter Waldner. Eugen Küfner was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Franz Aretz. Bocholt Adler's Michael Grede was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 20th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The supporters of Bocholt Adler booed when Salzburghofen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Addi Dammann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franz Aretz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Eugen Küfner successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Eugen Küfner made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Hartwig Ziehsow sent off a good shot on target. Michael Grede fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Küfner having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Salzburghofen's Hagen Bär got a free kick in the 29th minute. If Alexander Immel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hartwig Ziehsow came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Bocholt Adler fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hartwig Ziehsow couldn't finish the play. Salzburghofen's Eugen Küfner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Grede in the 36th minute of play. Michael Grede fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Küfner having to interfere. Salzburghofen's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Michael Grede scored to the left of an out of position Eugen Küfner, making the score, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Michael Grede made the kick off in the second half. Alexander Immel hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. A collision led to Salzburghofen getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Hagen Bär hit a great ball. Eugen Küfner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hartwig Ziehsow in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hartwig Ziehsow in the 66th minute of play forced Salzburghofen's goalkeeper Eugen Küfner to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eugen Küfner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patrick Kannegiesser in the 69th minute of the match. After 74 played minutes, Bocholt Adler's Franz Aretz shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eugen Küfner came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bocholt Adler reached it. When Hartwig Ziehsow got free in front of the goal in the 81st minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Eugen Küfner was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Bocholt Adler's Michael Grede got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eugen Küfner came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Bocholt Adler's Hartwig Ziehsow. But to his dismay, Hartwig Ziehsow quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The Bocholt Adler fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Bocholt Adler's Hartwig Ziehsow looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Hartwig Ziehsow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugen Küfner having to interfere. In the 97th minute, Arben Fritzsche got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Bocholt Adler had played much better football throughout.
