Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Heiko Spiller started the match with the kick off. Udo Sohlmann was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Heiko Spiller capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Heiko Spiller really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Bayer04's zone, Wim Kossowski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Osvaldo Villaelrriego came out of the goal and Wim Kossowski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Heiko Spiller's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Udo Sohlmann skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Eddy Jenssen kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Bayer04's Bonifatius Wissmann got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Heiko Spiller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bayer04's Osvaldo Villaelrriego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eddy Jenssen in the 23rd minute of play. Birk Onken charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Birk Onken the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Heiko Spiller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Udo Sohlmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Birk Onken hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Bayer04's Erkan Clason got a free kick in the 38th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Bayer04's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Kossowski came free, but Osvaldo Villaelrriego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bayer04's Osvaldo Villaelrriego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lukas Nork in the 44th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joachim Anklam to make the kick off. In the 56th minute, Alois Hoppe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Udo Sohlmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heiko Spiller in the 60th minute of the match. Udo Sohlmann took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heiko Spiller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Heiko Spiller sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Heiko Spiller had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osvaldo Villaelrriego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Kossowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heiko Spiller in the 78th minute of play forced Zollersteighof FSV's goalkeeper Udo Sohlmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Udo Sohlmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Heiko Spiller in the 81st minute of the match. A hard shot 86 in the game by Joachim Anklam from a close distance when the talented Osvaldo Villaelrriego managed to make a qualified save. Bayer04's players were relieved. Mathieu Schachtschober hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. In the 90th minute Wim Kossowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osvaldo Villaelrriego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldo Villaelrriego was a little too slow when Joachim Anklam got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 95th minute. The score was now 3-2. Bayer04 were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Zollersteighof FSV for a fine match.
