Rolf Hartmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wieland Gniech, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 26 minutes into the game, Pirmin Bauers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Herten FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Otto Bear the free kick. After 26 played minutes Herten FC got a freekick which was hit by Pirmin Bauers. Ted Höfgen hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Armin Bittscheidt hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Otto Bear's Rolf Hartmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Höfgen in the 42nd minute of play. The wind increased when Armin Bittscheidt made the kick off in the second half. Rolf Hartmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wieland Gniech in the 52nd minute of play. After 54 played minutes Herten FC got a freekick which was hit by Kees Rosentritt. Ted Höfgen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolf Hartmann having to interfere. After 62 played minutes Herten FC got a freekick which was hit by Ted Höfgen. Rolf Hartmann made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Ted Höfgen sent off a good shot on target. Wieland Gniech might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolf Hartmann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wieland Gniech ran back to his position shaking his head. Pirmin Bauers came free with the goalkeeper in the 71st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rolf Hartmann could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted Höfgen in the 75th minute of play forced Otto Bear's goalkeeper Rolf Hartmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Wieland Gniech shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolf Hartmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alessandro Demel kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Rolf Hartmann didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wieland Gniech went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 91 played minutes Herten FC got a freekick which was hit by Pirmin Bauers. When the match was over Herten FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Otto Bear throughout the match.
