Spectators: 7110 (Terracing: 5610, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 0) Ned Fehrmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iker Gädechens having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, Manheim FSV's goalkeeper Iker Gädechens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mark Brocker. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ned Fehrmann in the 10th minute of play forced Manheim FSV's goalkeeper Iker Gädechens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Alfons Schmitt's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Josef Borkmann was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. In the 17th match minute, TuS Grevenbroich was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Szesni to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Piet Kleist in the 19th minute of play forced TuS Grevenbroich's goalkeeper Josef Borkmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Jörg Bäßler ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Josef Borkmann was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Josef Borkmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörg Bäßler in the 29th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Manheim FSV's goal looked a bit too open when Ned Fehrmann came free, but Iker Gädechens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of TuS Grevenbroich booed when Manheim FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piet Kleist didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ned Fehrmann came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the TuS Grevenbroich fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ned Fehrmann couldn't finish the play. After having played for 39 minutes, Alfons Schmitt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manheim FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfons Schmitt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Mark Brocker cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Iker Gädechens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ned Fehrmann to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Alfons Schmitt rounded TuS Grevenbroich's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. Jeff Orthaus hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Jörg Bäßler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64th minute, TuS Grevenbroich's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jörg Bäßler fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jörg Bäßler got free with Josef Borkmann in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mark Brocker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ned Fehrmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Manheim FSV getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Piet Kleist hit a great ball. If Jörg Bäßler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jörg Bäßler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Manheim FSV's Jörg Bäßler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Josef Borkmann narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 96 minutes of play TuS Grevenbroich's Armin Kuglmeier was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to TuS Grevenbroich getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Armin Kuglmeier hit a great ball.
