In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Höfen An Der Enz's goalkeeper Toni Amsler, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gerhard Jaser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Benedetto Nauert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 27th minute Isidor Drescher shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedetto Nauert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Thomas Gruhn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ingo Morchner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gunnar Betzmann kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Benedetto Nauert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Gruhn in the 35th minute of the match. If Isidor Drescher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 38 minutes into the match, Höfen An Der Enz's Isidor Drescher sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benedetto Nauert narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benedetto Nauert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isidor Drescher's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Chelsea Cottbus's goalkeeper Benedetto Nauert, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Thomas Gruhn came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Höfen An Der Enz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Thomas Gruhn couldn't finish the play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ingo Morchner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ingo Morchner recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th minute Höfen An Der Enz were awarded a corner. Josef Husser went to the cornerflag to take it. Benedetto Nauert made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidor Drescher in the 59th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Höfen An Der Enz's Thomas Gruhn slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benedetto Nauert. That made the score 0-1 after 61 minutes of play. Isidor Drescher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Isidor Drescher's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedetto Nauert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Isidor Drescher struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Benedetto Nauert didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Höfen An Der Enz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Gruhn in the 80th minute of play forced FC Chelsea Cottbus's goalkeeper Benedetto Nauert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 81 minutes, Isidor Drescher managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Höfen An Der Enz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isidor Drescher was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thomas Gruhn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Benedetto Nauert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ingo Morchner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FC Chelsea Cottbus fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Höfen An Der Enz were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
