After 43 played minutes Borussia Mönchengladbach got a freekick which was hit by Siegfried Gauderer.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Heiko Hennicke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leif-Eric Welzel was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Heiko Hennicke showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-2 in the 93 minute of play. Borussia Mönchengladbach's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
