If Kord Bruns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Donny Reifmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wirmighausen's supporters rose to their feet, but Donny Reifmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benedetto Nauert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kord Bruns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Benedetto Nauert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With 27 minutes on the clock, Alois Stauff commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Wirmighausen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! Ingo Morchner made in the 32nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Eike Baumeister immediately put the ball in play. In the 37th minute Donny Reifmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedetto Nauert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Wirmighausen booed when FC Chelsea Cottbus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gunnar Betzmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gero Stossun hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 43 minutes into the game, Ingo Morchner recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Reinhold Faller. Ingo Morchner showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Donny Reifmann could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Benedetto Nauert made a huge save. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Chelsea Cottbus's goalkeeper Benedetto Nauert, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wirmighausen's Reinhold Faller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingo Morchner in the 59th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Wirmighausen's Gero Stossun got a free kick in the 63rd minute. With a little luck, FC Chelsea Cottbus's Benedetto Nauert got control of the ball when Donny Reifmann tried to sneak it across the goal line. Wirmighausen's attentive Donny Reifmann managed to snatch the ball when Ingo Morchner made a throw-in in the 70th minute of the game. Benedetto Nauert was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Reinhold Rossel. After 81 played minutes Wirmighausen got a freekick which was hit by Focko Franke. In the 93rd minute, Henning Schwalm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wirmighausen's Reinhold Faller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eike Baumeister in the 97th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, FC Chelsea Cottbus could leave the field as winners, despite Wirmighausen having more of the ball for most of the match.
