Spectators: 5500 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Otto Leonhardt got the match started through his kick off. Frank Engelmeier hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Seyweiler FC's Leon Oppermann got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, SG Saarmund's Constantin Hein got a free kick in the 10th minute. Constantin Hein charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Constantin Hein the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th minute, Constantin Hein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Constantin Hein hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Seyweiler FC's Frank Engelmeier couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 19th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SG Saarmund. Ede Gniech might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Okke Kantel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ede Gniech ran back to his position shaking his head. Stephan Zippel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Okke Kantel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of SG Saarmund booed when Seyweiler FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Zuse didn't get a good kick on the ball. Otto Leonhardt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tibor Gielchen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Seyweiler FC's zone, Tsuneo Hampen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tibor Gielchen came out of the goal and Tsuneo Hampen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Otto Leonhardt struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Tibor Gielchen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SG Saarmund. Leon Oppermann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 45 minutes into the game, Ede Gniech was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Seyweiler FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SG Saarmund the free kick. If Leon Oppermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 57th minute of the match, Stephan Zippel tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Okke Kantel saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Leon Oppermann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Seyweiler FC's Ede Gniech got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Okke Kantel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ede Gniech, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 81st minute Ede Gniech shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Okke Kantel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ede Gniech had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Seyweiler FC's Stephan Zippel got a free kick in the 96th minute.
