Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Franz Borgers started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Niedermanderscheid getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Sepp Romberg hit a great ball. Thorsten Ahnsorge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franz Borgers, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 7th minute, Niedermanderscheid's Franz Borgers ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Thorsten Ahnsorge. Thorsten Ahnsorge yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Thorsten Ahnsorge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franz Borgers in the 11th minute of the match. If Toni Breuer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petro Roedel kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Niedermanderscheid's Christian Fock sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thorsten Ahnsorge narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thorsten Ahnsorge took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franz Borgers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jim Reeb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute, Hans Bakunin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Merl FSV's Heribert Scholl got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jim Reeb received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Thorsten Ahnsorge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, Merl FSV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ladislaus Munderloh to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute, Jim Reeb got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Toni Breuer to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jim Reeb in the 52nd minute of play forced Merl FSV's goalkeeper Thorsten Ahnsorge to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 53 minutes, Ladislaus Munderloh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Merl FSV and the Niedermanderscheid players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 53 played minutes Merl FSV got a freekick which was hit by Ladislaus Munderloh. 57 minutes into the match, Merl FSV's Heribert Scholl sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Karlheinz Sachse narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Toni Breuer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Toni Breuer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Merl FSV's supporters rose to their feet, but Toni Breuer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Karlheinz Sachse breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Roy Künast had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 64 played minutes Merl FSV got a freekick which was hit by Ladislaus Munderloh. Niedermanderscheid's Christian Fock got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mustafa Roscher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karlheinz Sachse having to interfere. Thorsten Ahnsorge didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hans Bakunin went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to Merl FSV getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Ladislaus Munderloh hit a great ball. After having played for 93 minutes, Franz Borgers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Niedermanderscheid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franz Borgers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that Niedermanderscheid were the better team. Niedermanderscheid's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
