In the 5th minute Monty Keilbach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thorsten Ahnsorge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Merl FSV booed when Eifel FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norbert Maurer didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roy Künast in the 7th minute of play forced Eifel FC's goalkeeper Dragan Kerth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Raffael Pitten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the match, Monty Keilbach notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Merl FSV's Thorsten Ahnsorge. Thorsten Ahnsorge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Monty Keilbach had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Merl FSV's Roy Künast sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dragan Kerth narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thorsten Ahnsorge didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Monty Keilbach went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 36 minutes of play, Merl FSV's Heribert Scholl made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dragan Kerth was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Merl FSV's Willi Brechtheimer got a free kick in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the match, Eifel FC's goal looked a bit too open when Roy Künast came free, but Dragan Kerth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Merl FSV players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Eifel FC were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Monty Keilbach to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Eifel FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Monty Keilbach hit a great ball. Andi Inger kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Thorsten Ahnsorge made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Matthias Schmidt sent off a good shot on target. Lion Henschel made in the 59th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Andi Inger immediately put the ball in play. Dragan Kerth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Heribert Scholl went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Dragan Kerth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heribert Scholl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Lion Henschel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Merl FSV's Pascal Krug got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 73rd minute Monty Keilbach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thorsten Ahnsorge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petro Roedel kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. With a little luck, Merl FSV's Thorsten Ahnsorge got control of the ball when Matthias Schmidt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Merl FSV's Thorsten Ahnsorge played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Monty Keilbach in the 90th minute of play. Roy Künast sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
