Hendrik Sprodowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Udo Binding, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 3rd minute Tristan Bilger suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erk Schwierzke during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 4 played minutes Stelzen got a freekick which was hit by Erk Schwierzke. If Simon Rösch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 22 minutes, Georg Rose managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poppendorf FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Georg Rose was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 23 minutes, Jochen Rückert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stelzen and the Poppendorf FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hendrik Sprodowski went to the wrong direction when Che Bister was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After having played for 31 minutes, Georg Rose managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poppendorf FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Georg Rose was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th match minute, Stelzen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jochen Rückert to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 38 minutes, Jochen Rückert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stelzen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jochen Rückert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Georg Rose sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Georg Rose came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Poppendorf FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georg Rose couldn't finish the play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Otmar Wegner stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Stelzen's Jochen Rückert got his second yellow card of the match in the 55th minute. The referee ordered Jochen Rückert off the ground. The supporters of Poppendorf FC booed when Stelzen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jochen Rückert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Udo Binding hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Georg Rose managed to get in a good position for a shot. Poppendorf FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Georg Rose was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hendrik Sprodowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Poppendorf FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 66th minute, when Otmar Wegner scored to the left of an out of position Gerold Erkeling, making the score, 0-1. Georg Rose might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hendrik Sprodowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Georg Rose ran back to his position shaking his head. Stelzen's Hendrik Sprodowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Georg Rose in the 78th minute of play. Gerold Erkeling made an important save on a dangerous shot by Otmar Wegner in the 80th minute. 83 minutes into the match, Stelzen's Shawn Rohde sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerold Erkeling narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Otmar Wegner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Gerold Erkeling made a huge save. 93 minutes into the game, Poppendorf FC's Georg Rose nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hendrik Sprodowski made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
