Match Report

Burkau Stadion
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0)
With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emmerich Gröber in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cedric Schulcz saved SV Schwetzingen from getting behind. Burkau's Benny Natusch played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elmar Brand in the 8th minute of play. Willi Kau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cedric Schulcz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. SV Schwetzingen's Cedric Schulcz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save SV Schwetzingen from getting a goal against them. Cedric Schulcz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emmerich Gröber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the game, Elmar Brand was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SV Schwetzingen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Burkau the free kick. After 17 played minutes SV Schwetzingen got a freekick which was hit by Elmar Brand. Oskar Balser who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Cedric Schulcz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Elmar Brand managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Schwetzingen's supporters rose to their feet, but Elmar Brand was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benny Natusch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elmar Brand hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Schwetzingen's goalkeeper Cedric Schulcz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Burkau's Oskar Balser was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 33rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Kay Mohrlang missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 41 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Benny Natusch right hand side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elmar Brand to make the kick off. Achaz Bremke's late challenge caught a SV Schwetzingen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Achaz Bremke helped the player get up and apologised. Achaz Bremke hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Emmerich Gröber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute Oskar Balser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cedric Schulcz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oliver Mütze hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Cedric Schulcz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oskar Balser, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 minutes, Tobias Gatzke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SV Schwetzingen and the Burkau players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Burkau booed when SV Schwetzingen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tobias Gatzke didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cedric Schulcz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emmerich Gröber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 73rd minute, Oskar Balser made a precise shot to the right of Cedric Schulcz. SV Schwetzingen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. When Burkau's Emmerich Gröber in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SV Schwetzingen's goalie prevented a goal. If Emmerich Gröber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Emmerich Gröber had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cedric Schulcz. SV Schwetzingen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emmerich Gröber was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 93 minutes into the match, Oskar Balser notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of SV Schwetzingen's Cedric Schulcz. Cedric Schulcz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Iso Pöggeler kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the SV Schwetzingen players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Burkau.
