The long shot by Roberto Gerster in the 16th minute really tested Ricky Reiser's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pär Erhart in the 18th minute of play forced Herriehausen's goalkeeper Wilhelm Blecken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Wilde Meute's Ricky Reiser proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save FC Wilde Meute from getting a goal against them. Pär Erhart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilhelm Blecken having to interfere. Friedrich Blenke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Wilhelm Blecken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pär Erhart fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilhelm Blecken having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Friedrich Blenke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pär Erhart stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Berti Langguth's late challenge caught a FC Wilde Meute's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Berti Langguth helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st minute, one of Herriehausen:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Herriehausen. With a little luck, Herriehausen's Wilhelm Blecken got control of the ball when Thomas Werner tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Friedrich Blenke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herriehausen's Wilhelm Blecken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herwig Neubauer in the 68th minute of play. Reno Fauser fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilhelm Blecken having to interfere. When Herwig Neubauer came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the FC Wilde Meute fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Herwig Neubauer couldn't finish the play. Herwig Neubauer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilhelm Blecken read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Wilhelm Blecken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herwig Neubauer, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Friedrich Blenke struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Wilhelm Blecken didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Wilde Meute. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Thomas Werner managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Wilde Meute's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Werner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilhelm Blecken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the game, Herwig Neubauer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Wilde Meute's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Herriehausen the free kick. The supporters of Herriehausen booed when FC Wilde Meute was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herwig Neubauer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Friedrich Blenke managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Wilde Meute's supporters rose to their feet, but Friedrich Blenke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilhelm Blecken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Wilde Meute's Friedrich Blenke got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Martin Kwast had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 94 played minutes Herriehausen got a freekick which was hit by Leroy Felgner. After a rather tough play, Herriehausen's Berti Langguth got a free kick in the 98th minute. When the final whistle sounded FC Wilde Meute left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Herriehausen.
