In the 20th minute Mike Garske shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Vielmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mike Garske scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sven Vielmann, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Fidelio Pehr fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MÜNCHEN LIONS's protests and gave Fidelio Pehr a yellow card for diving instead. Fidelio Pehr kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Mike Garske fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven Vielmann having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, BerlinerDiavolo's Paul Austin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sven Vielmann made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Mike Berg charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mike Berg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Mike Berg kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Jannick Strack got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Paul Austin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of MÜNCHEN LIONS booed when BerlinerDiavolo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caspar Kaulbach didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pär Brecht took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jannick Strack, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the match, MÜNCHEN LIONS's goalkeeper Sven Vielmann had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mike Garske. In the 69th play minute Mike Garske came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sven Vielmann. 0-3. Sven Vielmann made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Mike Garske sent off a good shot on target. Andi Stempfle hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Sven Vielmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Austin in the 83rd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mike Garske during the 84th minute.
