Luis Hommertgen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Biesen FC's goalkeeper Christian Goldblum, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Schötmar's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Claudio Flöge in the 18th minute. The corner led Schötmar's Claudio Flöge to fire away a dangerous shot which Christian Goldblum despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Harry Kubin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luis Hommertgen having to interfere. Luis Hommertgen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sergej Altmaier went, in the 23rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Sergej Altmaier could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Luis Hommertgen made a huge save. Espen Rehm's late challenge caught a Schötmar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Johannes Reiss during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joachim Küpper-Adebisi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Christian Goldblum made a huge save. Schötmar's Luis Hommertgen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergej Altmaier in the 73rd minute of play. Imre Hasebrink charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Imre Hasebrink the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Biesen FC booed when Schötmar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Imre Hasebrink didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Harry Kubin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Biesen FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Many of Schötmar's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Schötmar may have spent more time on the ball, but Biesen FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
