When Fidelio Pehr fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MÜNCHEN LIONS's protests and gave Fidelio Pehr a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Herriehausen booed when MÜNCHEN LIONS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidelio Pehr didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute, Martin Kwast left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Herriehausen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The supporters of MÜNCHEN LIONS booed when Herriehausen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erasmus Viehl didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hannes Bresack recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of MÜNCHEN LIONS booed when Herriehausen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Kobel didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jannick Strack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the game, Jannick Strack recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilhelm Blecken. Jannick Strack showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After some careless play in the MÜNCHEN LIONS defense, Martin Kwast kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sven Vielmann. The MÜNCHEN LIONS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sven Vielmann should have stopped the shot. In the 43rd minute of the match Leroy Felgner shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven Vielmann showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sven Vielmann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Kwast, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 47 played minutes MÜNCHEN LIONS got a freekick which was hit by Fidelio Pehr. After the first half Herriehausen were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martin Kwast to make the kick off. With a little luck, MÜNCHEN LIONS's Sven Vielmann got control of the ball when Hannes Bresack tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to MÜNCHEN LIONS getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Ignatius Wonneberger hit a great ball. Roberto Gerster, 71 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jannick Strack fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilhelm Blecken having to interfere. Herriehausen's Leroy Felgner shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 86th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sven Vielmann but with some difficulty. Martin Kwast kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Erasmus Viehl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The MÜNCHEN LIONS manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Herriehausen to win.
