In the 8th match minute, Trabzonspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dankward Trienekens to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Claudio Flöge's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beppo Diebitsch was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Dankward Trienekens hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Hermann Bierholz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schötmar's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermann Bierholz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
