The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ralf Heiß showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bankholzen's Ralf Heiß played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnold Senekowitsch in the 16th minute of play. When Arnold Senekowitsch came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Mutten FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arnold Senekowitsch couldn't finish the play. 21 minutes into the match, Gernot Breddermann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ralf Heiß. Bankholzen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gernot Breddermann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Rio Grundl's late challenge caught a Mutten FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rio Grundl helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Mutten FC booed when Bankholzen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rio Grundl didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bankholzen's zone, Gernot Breddermann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ralf Heiß came out of the goal and Gernot Breddermann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ralf Heiß showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnold Senekowitsch in the 29th minute of the match. After 30 minutes of play, Bankholzen's Mark Galeski made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viktor Ortkemper was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 36th minute, Gernot Breddermann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ralf Heiß was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. If Gernot Breddermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Arnold Senekowitsch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 44thth minute of the game Gernot Breddermann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bankholzen's Ralf Heiß was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arnold Senekowitsch sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gernot Breddermann to make the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Bankholzen's goal looked a bit too open when Gernot Breddermann came free, but Ralf Heiß reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Bankholzen:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mutten FC:s goal. The goalkeeper, Ralf Heiß, was totally fooled by Mutten FC's Wulf Bulling, who 58 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. 67 minutes into the match, Mutten FC's Arnold Senekowitsch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ralf Heiß narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Dennis Scharpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mutten FC's Gernot Breddermann was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 71st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. When Gernot Breddermann came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Mutten FC fans jumped to their feet. David Hülsmeyer hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match.
