After a defensive mix-up in 1 Fc.Köln's zone, Edmund Blättgen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mayk Funk came out of the goal and Edmund Blättgen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Tim Lange had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Beppo Lantermann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mayk Funk having to interfere. Mayk Funk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmund Blättgen, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Mayk Funk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmund Blättgen, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Mayk Funk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beppo Lantermann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 44 minutes of play, FC Wuppi's Beppo Lantermann made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
