After some careless play in the Groß Wittefelder Ort defense, Otis Franz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Heiner Rehberg. The Groß Wittefelder Ort fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Heiner Rehberg should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Conweiler's zone, Armand Berghorn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Herbert Sturz came out of the goal and Armand Berghorn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jari Bergau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herbert Sturz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armand Berghorn in the 17th minute of the match. In the 18th match minute, Conweiler was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Bankett to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Conweiler's Ludger Humbert got a free kick in the 19th minute. Peter-Michael Bankett took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 20th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Herbert Sturz. Conweiler's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otis Franz in the 22nd minute of play forced Groß Wittefelder Ort's goalkeeper Heiner Rehberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otis Franz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Heiner Rehberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herbert Sturz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armand Berghorn in the 28th minute of the match. In the 31stth minute of the game Armand Berghorn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Conweiler's Herbert Sturz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 33 minutes, Patrick Bankett mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Conweiler and the Groß Wittefelder Ort players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Conweiler's Patrick Bankett got a free kick in the 34th minute. Conweiler's Timo Jung got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Heiner Rehberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otis Franz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute, Erik Wazansky hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Conweiler booed when Groß Wittefelder Ort was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Wolbergs didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute, Jari Bergau got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jari Bergau to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Armand Berghorn fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Herbert Sturz, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of Groß Wittefelder Ort booed when Conweiler was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georg Richardsen didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Groß Wittefelder Ort's Armand Berghorn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Herbert Sturz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Wolf Frieden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Herbert Sturz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jari Bergau in the 63rd minute. After having played for 66 minutes, Erik Wazansky managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Groß Wittefelder Ort's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik Wazansky was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ludger Humbert hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. An unexpected shot in the 68th minute by Jari Bergau got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. If Erik Wazansky had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 71 minutes, Jari Bergau managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Groß Wittefelder Ort's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jari Bergau was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Conweiler's Herbert Sturz got control of the ball when Jari Bergau tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gustav Lingens hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After 76 minutes of play, Conweiler's Otis Franz made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Heiner Rehberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Groß Wittefelder Ort's Armand Berghorn got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Many of Groß Wittefelder Ort's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Groß Wittefelder Ort may have spent more time on the ball, but Conweiler were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
