Nienburger fc's Axel Reinhold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Krumpen in the 13th minute of play. Peer Quack recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pascal Silen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 1 FC Kaiserslautern's Lev Kuhr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hans Diekämper in the 22nd minute of play. Lev Kuhr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Diekämper in the 26th minute of the match. After 27 played minutes 1 FC Kaiserslautern got a freekick which was hit by Karl Krumpen. If Jacek Wesseler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Klaas Bodensieck's late challenge caught a 1 FC Kaiserslautern's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Klaas Bodensieck helped the player get up and apologised. If Joseph Petsch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 37th minute, Pascal Silen reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Axel Reinhold. The goal made the score 2-0. With a little luck, Nienburger fc's Axel Reinhold got control of the ball when Gilles Reitgaßl tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pascal Silen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Axel Reinhold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Lev Kuhr was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Hans Diekämper capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hans Diekämper really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Peer Quack took a quick shot and it went in 2-2 without a chance for Lev Kuhr to make any attempt to save it. When Karl Krumpen came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the 1 FC Kaiserslautern fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Krumpen couldn't finish the play. Jacek Wesseler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Axel Reinhold tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of 1 FC Kaiserslautern booed when Nienburger fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klaas Bodensieck didn't get a good kick on the ball. Axel Reinhold stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl Krumpen's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the match, Nienburger fc's goal looked a bit too open when Karl Krumpen came free, but Axel Reinhold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Hans Diekämper ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lev Kuhr was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Gilles Reitgaßl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see 1 FC Kaiserslautern lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
