Gilles Reitgaßl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Heiner Rehberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 12thth minute of the game Pascal Silen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Groß Wittefelder Ort's Heiner Rehberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jari Bergau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lev Kuhr having to interfere. Lev Kuhr showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Wazansky, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute, Jari Bergau left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Groß Wittefelder Ort fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 19thth minute of the game Jari Bergau who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1 FC Kaiserslautern's Lev Kuhr was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Groß Wittefelder Ort fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Groß Wittefelder Ort's Armand Berghorn looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lev Kuhr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armand Berghorn in the 26th minute of play. When Armand Berghorn fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Groß Wittefelder Ort's protests and gave Armand Berghorn a yellow card for diving instead. Armand Berghorn hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Volker Sager struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Heiner Rehberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1 FC Kaiserslautern. 33 minutes into the match, 1 FC Kaiserslautern's Volker Sager sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Heiner Rehberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Volker Sager got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Pascal Silen came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the 1 FC Kaiserslautern fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pascal Silen couldn't finish the play. Jacek Wesseler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Groß Wittefelder Ort's Erik Wazansky got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Volker Sager got free with Heiner Rehberg in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Jacek Wesseler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pascal Silen was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Pascal Silen managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1 FC Kaiserslautern's supporters rose to their feet, but Pascal Silen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Heiner Rehberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lev Kuhr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armand Berghorn in the 76th minute of play. Heiner Rehberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascal Silen in the 77th minute of play. With 78 minutes on the clock, Philipp Bischof commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in 1 FC Kaiserslautern fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 78th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Groß Wittefelder Ort a penalty, 80 minutes into the game. Jacek Wesseler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Groß Wittefelder Ort eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
