Spectators: 7444 (Terracing: 5584, Seating: 1712, VIP seats: 148) Ilja Donnerbauer started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Ilja Donnerbauer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Sixten Pluhm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, VFC Leipzig's goal looked a bit too open when Ilja Donnerbauer came free, but Sixten Pluhm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Torben Lücker hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Romed Rudolph received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sixten Pluhm came out and tried to block the shot, but Romed Rudolph slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 12th minute. In the 18th minute Clint Schims shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moses Kohnen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Holger Sachse in the 22nd minute of play forced Spreewerder's goalkeeper Moses Kohnen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 minutes, Rolf Wering mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VFC Leipzig and the Spreewerder players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Spreewerder got a freekick which was hit by Luis Donath. In the 31st minute Ilja Donnerbauer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixten Pluhm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vincent Erfurt hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Ilja Donnerbauer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romed Rudolph struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Sixten Pluhm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spreewerder. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Spreewerder's goalkeeper Moses Kohnen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 47 minutes, Rolf Wering managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VFC Leipzig's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rolf Wering was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Clint Schims made the kick off in the second half. If Romed Rudolph had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. In the 65th match minute, Spreewerder was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Donath to maneuver through the defense. 68 minutes into the match, VFC Leipzig's goal looked a bit too open when Ilja Donnerbauer came free, but Sixten Pluhm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. VFC Leipzig's Holger Sachse got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sixten Pluhm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romed Rudolph in the 84th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Clint Schims in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moses Kohnen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luis Donath's late challenge caught a VFC Leipzig's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luis Donath helped the player get up and apologised. Spreewerder were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of VFC Leipzig for a fine match.
