Hülsenbusch's Marc Blask got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hertha Bunde's defense didn't have a chance, in the 5th minute, when Gunter Gnant scored to the left of an out of position Gerold Gottwald, making the score, 1-0. A hard shot 9 in the game by Marc Blask from a close distance when the talented Gerold Gottwald managed to make a qualified save. Hertha Bunde's players were relieved. In the 10th match minute, Hertha Bunde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingo Prautzsch to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 13 minutes, Gerold Gottwald successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marc Blask got free with Gerold Gottwald in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 19 minutes into the match, Hertha Bunde's goalkeeper Gerold Gottwald had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marc Blask. Gerold Gottwald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunter Gnant in the 21st minute of play. Wolfgang Barow kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Gerold Gottwald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gunter Gnant in the 26th minute of the match. The supporters of Hülsenbusch booed when Hertha Bunde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heidrich Glenz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ulrich Karp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wolfgang Barow in the 31st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marc Blask got free with Gerold Gottwald in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gunter Gnant in the 35th minute of play forced Hertha Bunde's goalkeeper Gerold Gottwald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wolfgang Barow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 43 minutes, Marc Blask managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hülsenbusch's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marc Blask was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerold Gottwald was a little too slow when Gunter Gnant got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albert Diebold made a kick off. Gerold Gottwald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marc Blask in the 53rd minute of the match. After 57 played minutes Hülsenbusch got a freekick which was hit by Marc Blask. Ulrich Karp made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Albert Diebold sent off a good shot on target. In the 62nd minute, Gunter Gnant left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hülsenbusch fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Marc Blask fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerold Gottwald having to interfere. Marc Blask's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerold Gottwald read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marc Blask in the 69th minute of play forced Hertha Bunde's goalkeeper Gerold Gottwald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hertha Bunde's Gerold Gottwald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marc Blask in the 71st minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Hertha Bunde fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 70th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Hülsenbusch a penalty, 73 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lucas Hanke, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hertha Bunde's Gerold Gottwald. 4-0. Hülsenbusch's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Lucas Hanke in the 82nd minute. Gerold Gottwald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucas Hanke in the 85th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Hertha Bunde's Wolfgang Barow got a free kick in the 88th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Hertha Bunde's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Blask came free, but Gerold Gottwald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hertha Bunde's Gerold Gottwald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunter Gnant in the 92nd minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Hülsenbusch players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
