They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marc Blask to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marc Blask got free with Maik Burzloff in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gunter Gnant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Maik Burzloff tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marc Blask fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maik Burzloff having to interfere. Lucas Hanke struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Maik Burzloff didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hülsenbusch. After having played for 67 minutes, Leon Vandenhirtz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A collision led to Hülsenbusch getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Eggert Mannschatz hit a great ball. Kajetan Kukowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Ulrich Karp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hülsenbusch's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
