Ehrhard Gehlhaar made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Sascha Kebeis sent off a good shot on target. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Sandhausen's goalkeeper Joachim Deckert, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ehrhard Gehlhaar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cord Krämer in the 12th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johann Bosold in the 17th minute of play forced SV Sandhausen's goalkeeper Joachim Deckert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Cord Krämer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SV Sandhausen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballspiel-Verein Preußen the free kick. Cord Krämer hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. If Johann Bosold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Johann Bosold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Joachim Deckert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ballspiel-Verein Preußen's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Cord Krämer 33 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Sascha Kebeis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Ehrhard Gehlhaar made a huge save. When Ballspiel-Verein Preußen's Johann Bosold in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SV Sandhausen's goalie prevented a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 54th match minute, Ballspiel-Verein Preußen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erik Reuscher to maneuver through the defense. Ehrhard Gehlhaar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sascha Kebeis's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Ehrhard Gehlhaar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cord Krämer in the 59th minute of the match. In the 75th minute of the match, Johann Bosold got a very nice opportunity to score, but Joachim Deckert was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cord Krämer struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Ehrhard Gehlhaar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SV Sandhausen. Cord Krämer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johann Bosold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Deckert having to interfere. Johann Bosold charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Johann Bosold the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SV Sandhausen booed when Ballspiel-Verein Preußen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johann Bosold didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ballspiel-Verein Preußen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
