Spectators: 7459 (Terracing: 5595, Seating: 1715, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Egon Kampeter took the kick off in the first half of the match. Egon Kampeter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Deckert having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Reimar Stotz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, SV Sötenich's Kristian Biewald got control of the ball when Sascha Kebeis tried to sneak it across the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, SV Sandhausen's Cord Krämer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kristian Biewald narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SV Sandhausen's Joachim Deckert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tizian Juncker in the 23rd minute of play. Joachim Deckert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dag Klöser, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Cord Krämer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristian Biewald having to interfere. Matias Günther kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After 42 minutes of play, SV Sandhausen's Sascha Kebeis made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kristian Biewald was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kristian Biewald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cord Krämer in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cord Krämer was the one to do the kick off. Helmut Schöpf's late challenge caught a SV Sötenich's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Helmut Schöpf helped the player get up and apologised. 55 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when SV Sötenich's Egon Kampeter fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 59th play minute Egon Kampeter came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Joachim Deckert. 2-1. Egon Kampeter received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joachim Deckert came out and tried to block the shot, but Egon Kampeter slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 65th minute. SV Sötenich's Kristian Biewald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sascha Kebeis in the 70th minute of play. Joachim Deckert made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tizian Juncker in the 73rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Boris Breuer managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Sötenich's supporters rose to their feet, but Boris Breuer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joachim Deckert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Egon Kampeter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Joachim Deckert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Dag Klöser managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Sötenich's supporters rose to their feet, but Dag Klöser was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joachim Deckert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Egon Kampeter in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joachim Deckert prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Egon Kampeter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matias Günther during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Matias Günther hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the match, Egon Kampeter had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joachim Deckert. SV Sandhausen's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Egon Kampeter was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3.
