Spectators: 7487 (Terracing: 5616, Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 149) SV Sandhausen's Sascha Kebeis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. SV Sandhausen's Noel Bayer shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 4th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Paulo Lotter but with some difficulty. With 6 minutes on the clock, Egon Gaffga commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 5th minute, one of Werdohl:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Werdohl. Werdohl:s Paulo Lotter showed great skill when he stopped Eduard Strobl:s penalty. In the 8th minute, Eduard Strobl left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SV Sandhausen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 12th minute Sascha Kebeis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Lotter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 14th minute, Hernan Della left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Werdohl fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hernan Della in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joachim Deckert saved SV Sandhausen from getting behind. If Sascha Kebeis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joachim Deckert didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hernan Della went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. James Daecher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Paulo Lotter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hernan Della recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joachim Deckert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Della in the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute Lovis Diekelmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Deckert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hernan Della stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sascha Kebeis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Lotter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Sascha Kebeis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, SV Sandhausen's James Daecher got a free kick in the 64th minute. Werdohl's Alex Kuhn quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Poldi Herdzik, made in the 72nd minute of the game. Lucien Wächter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Deckert having to interfere. If Hernan Della had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Werdohl fans' excitement grew in the 89th match minute when Werdohl's Hernan Della looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 95th minute Hernan Della shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Deckert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Werdohl left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than SV Sandhausen.
