Spectators: 7391 (Terracing: 5626, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 40) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cord Krämer took the kick off in the first half of the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Cord Krämer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SV Sandhausen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cord Krämer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eduard Strobl hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. When Hernan Della came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Werdohl fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernan Della couldn't finish the play. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind SV Sandhausen's goalkeeper Joachim Deckert, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joachim Deckert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lucien Wächter in the 16th minute of the match. Joachim Deckert stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hernan Della's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. After 25 played minutes, SV Sandhausen's Hagen Sinning shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulo Lotter came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SV Sandhausen reached it. Paulo Lotter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sascha Kebeis's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute Cord Krämer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Lotter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to SV Sandhausen getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Jürgen Immel hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the game, Poldi Herdzik threw the ball into play from the sideline. Werdohl's Marc Myszka quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 39th minute Hernan Della shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Deckert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Hernan Della's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joachim Deckert was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. In the 45th minute of the game Eduard Strobl made a throw-in which Jürgen Immel played forward. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hernan Della to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernan Della in the 52nd minute of play forced SV Sandhausen's goalkeeper Joachim Deckert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Werdohl's attentive Marc Myszka managed to snatch the ball when Poldi Herdzik made a throw-in in the 56th minute of the game. Marc Myszka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Joachim Deckert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Lucien Wächter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Hernan Della came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Werdohl fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernan Della couldn't finish the play. After 63 minutes, Hernan Della mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Werdohl and the SV Sandhausen players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SV Sandhausen booed when Werdohl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernan Della didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, SV Sandhausen's Sascha Kebeis got a free kick in the 70th minute. Poldi Herdzik kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Poldi Herdzik charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Poldi Herdzik the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th match minute, SV Sandhausen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Poldi Herdzik to maneuver through the defense. Jürgen Immel hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Werdohl fully deserved thier win.
