Jan Kratz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Karl Ertl to make the kick off. Westerhofen's Jan Kratz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Gehrcke in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Olav Schütze hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th match minute, Schönningstedt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Cramer to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the game, Wolfgang Kittler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Schönningstedt's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Westerhofen the free kick. With an all-out effort, Westerhofen's Tim Happach threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Karl Ertl, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 95th minute, Samuel Cramer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Schönningstedt had won after a very even match.
