Michael Dieler's late challenge caught a Düre's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Michael Dieler helped the player get up and apologised. In the 61st match minute, Düre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kjeld Roth to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Knud Bentin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gandersum's Pit Faller got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Pit Faller had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robin Kretschmann. Düre's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pit Faller was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The Gandersum supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gandersum would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
