Spectators: 7474 (Terracing: 5607, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 149) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Michael Plein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wolf Senkel in the 3rd minute of the match. 5 minutes into the game, Achim Kortüm was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Maras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Varste the free kick. A collision led to FC Maras getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Achim Kortüm hit a great ball. After 6 played minutes, FC Varste's Benjamin Börnert shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Michael Plein came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Varste reached it. David Forbrig received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Emanuel Lindenthal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute Wolf Senkel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Plein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, FC Maras's goal looked a bit too open when Manfred Deipenbrock came free, but Michael Plein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. David Forbrig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Lindenthal having to interfere. FC Varste's Manfred Deipenbrock got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Michael Plein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfred Deipenbrock in the 25th minute of play. FC Varste's Wolf Senkel got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of FC Maras booed when FC Varste was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Börnert didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leopold Schubert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emanuel Lindenthal having to interfere. Manfred Deipenbrock scored 0-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Michael Plein, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manfred Deipenbrock in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Michael Plein saved FC Maras from getting behind. 38 minutes into the match, FC Maras's goal looked a bit too open when Wolf Senkel came free, but Michael Plein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wolf Senkel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When FC Varste's Manfred Deipenbrock in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After the first half FC Varste were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wolf Senkel to make the kick off. Manfred Deipenbrock succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 55th playminute. Wolf Senkel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Plein having to interfere. Michael Plein made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Manfred Deipenbrock sent off a good shot on target. After 88 played minutes FC Varste got a freekick which was hit by Benedikt Klaeden. FC Maras's Josef Brill got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd minute, Wolf Senkel reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Michael Plein. The goal made the score 0-4. FC Varste's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
