The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kai Rathje fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Pelzer having to interfere. Grabower FC's Stephan Hegekötter got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Stephan Hegekötter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 15 minutes, Jaroslaw Stark mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nankatsu and the Grabower FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Nankatsu getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Jaroslaw Stark hit a great ball. Nankatsu's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Till Töpfer 19 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Jimmy Pelzer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Friedrich Schreier, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Stephan Hegekötter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steffen Rossmanith took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jimmy Pelzer. Jimmy Pelzer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Friedrich Schreier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Jimmy Pelzer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th match minute, Nankatsu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurent Köpsel to maneuver through the defense. After 35 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Nankatsu! A collision led to Nankatsu getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Laurent Köpsel hit a great ball. When Laurent Köpsel fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nankatsu's protests and gave Laurent Köpsel a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Nankatsu getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Laurent Köpsel hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Till Töpfer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 59 played minutes Nankatsu got a freekick which was hit by Kai Rathje. If Rolf Bühler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Nankatsu getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Kai Rathje hit a great ball. The supporters of Grabower FC booed when Nankatsu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kai Rathje didn't get a good kick on the ball. 74 minutes into the match, Nankatsu's goal looked a bit too open when Stephan Hegekötter came free, but Jan Kaack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Grabower FC's Odo Christann got a free kick in the 77th minute. Grabower FC's Jimmy Pelzer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Friedrich Schreier in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Grabower FC's Stephan Hegekötter sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan Kaack narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Nankatsu's zone, Rolf Bühler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan Kaack came out of the goal and Rolf Bühler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ronald Schwemer kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 90th minute, Nankatsu's Friedrich Schreier ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jimmy Pelzer. Jimmy Pelzer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
