With his leg Bruno Gapp managed to avoid a goal in the 4thth minute, when BVB Borussia Dortmund 09's Leonid Thommessen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 8 played minutes, BVB Borussia Dortmund 09's Jamal Hollekamp shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Bruno Gapp came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in BVB Borussia Dortmund 09 reached it. Thanks to some nice moves Mats Reifmann could shoot a difficult shot in the 9th minute, which Bruno Gapp however easily saved by the left post. BVB Borussia Dortmund 09's Franz Brecht played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arno Melzer in the 14th minute of play. SV Blumen Osterfeld's Kristian Körth quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ilja Bernstein, made in the 16th minute of the game. If Leonid Thommessen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SV Blumen Osterfeld's attentive Arno Melzer managed to snatch the ball when Florian Busche made a throw-in in the 22nd minute of the game. Arno Melzer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florian Busche made in the 25th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Leonid Thommessen. After having played for 26 minutes, Leonid Thommessen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BVB Borussia Dortmund 09's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonid Thommessen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arno Melzer in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Franz Brecht prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Roger Witty kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Florian Busche in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SV Blumen Osterfeld's Ralph Grübel. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harry Köhncke during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, BVB Borussia Dortmund 09's Harry Köhncke got a free kick in the 38th minute. After having played for 39 minutes, Kristian Körth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SV Blumen Osterfeld's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kristian Körth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franz Krauth during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leonid Thommessen to strike the kick off in the second half. Leonid Thommessen hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 58th minute Florian Busche shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Gapp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to BVB Borussia Dortmund 09 getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Florian Busche hit a great ball. In the 62nd match minute, SV Blumen Osterfeld was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niko Lüttges to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, BVB Borussia Dortmund 09's Franz Krauth got a free kick in the 65th minute. After 72 played minutes SV Blumen Osterfeld got a freekick which was hit by Ralph Grübel. Ralph Grübel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 82 minutes into the match, SV Blumen Osterfeld's goal looked a bit too open when Leonid Thommessen came free, but Bruno Gapp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Florian Busche got a throw-in 89 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Leonid Thommessen. Kristian Körth was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 95 minutes into the match. Jamal Hollekamp struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Bruno Gapp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BVB Borussia Dortmund 09. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
