After 12 played minutes Nowosibirsk got a freekick which was hit by Malik Perrey. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Wendelin Hennicke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ottershofen's supporters rose to their feet, but Wendelin Hennicke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roland Thumerer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute Mike Bollwerk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roland Thumerer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wendelin Hennicke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roland Thumerer having to interfere. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 46 minutes into the match, Nowosibirsk's goal looked a bit too open when Wendelin Hennicke came free, but Roland Thumerer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Ottershofen were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gisbert Wesseling made a kick off. Roland Thumerer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mike Bollwerk's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. 57 minutes into the match, Ottershofen's Mike Bollwerk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roland Thumerer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Roland Thumerer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mike Bollwerk in the 95th minute. Ottershofen played a much better game than Nowosibirsk and deserved their victory. The Nowosibirsk players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
